To date we have traveled 3,000 plus miles and spent more than 53 hours in the car. We cant't believe we are actually on this trip. It is incredible to think that we are fortunate enough to take this vacation.
Our drive to Cleveland, Ohio took a while but we all enjoyed having a goodnights sleep somewhere closer, rather than spending more time in the car.
We woke up early that next morning and hit the road. We were on our way to Syracuse, New York.
Syracuse was another 1 night stop that was enjoyed by all.
When we left Syracuse that morning we headed out for Niagara Falls. We planned on taking the Maid of the Mist boat ride into the falls. The sight was breathtaking. Isn't God great?(: Many a picture and video were taken.
After the boat, we all chose to walk up a staircase right next to the falls where we were bombarded with water. It was very refreshing to be wet when the day is hot.
We were all hungry right after (as you can imagine) so we dicussed taking our vacation out of this country. We crossed the Rainbow Bridge into Canada to eat lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe and take a look at the Canadian side of the falls. Incredible.
The family had a great time and we walked back into the US and got back into the car once again to head off to Boston.
Boston by the 4th of July? Mission accomplished.
We arrived right on the 4th around 4:00. We walked around the downtown area for a while and took part of a trolly tour of the Freedom Trail. Then we walked to a grassy area to watch the firworks being shot off into the Boston harbor. The firworks were unbelievable.
It was about a 30 minute show starting at 10:15. We all sat in awe as the firworks popped above us(: The pictures we took cannot do it justice.
Right when they finished we all grabbed partners and rushed into the train station and hurried to be towards the front of the major crowds.
The ride back was filled with exciting conversations about the fireworks and we all crashed back at the hotel.
The next morning we woke up, had breakfast and headed out for more time in downtown Boston.
We finished up our tour of the Freedom Trail and took a Duck tour. The vehicle took us first on a small tour of some of the major landmarks and then drove into the water and we toured around the harbor.
Both tours were fun and gave us information about the historical city.
Today we are planning on taking a scenic drive on Cape Cod and swimming on a beach somewhere. Can't wait to get out of this heat!!(:
